How publishing works
Editing a card template updates the draft in Carrott. Publishing sends the latest version to wallet passes so customers can receive the updated design, text, fields, or rules.
Some operational changes may also refresh passes automatically, but publishing is the clearest way to confirm the live customer-facing version is up to date.
When to publish
Publish after changing:
- Card name or description
- Reward text or membership rules
- Colors, logo, icon, or strip image
- Wallet display fields
- Signup form fields
- Expiration or advanced earning rules
- Terms and conditions
Steps
- Open Cards Manager.
- Select the card template.
- Review the preview.
- Save your changes.
- Select Publish.
- Wait for the publish action to finish.
What customers see
Customers with the pass installed should receive the updated version in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Timing can vary by device, wallet app, internet connection, and notification settings.
Best practice
For important launches, install the pass on a test phone before sending traffic to the join link. If a change affects reward rules, tell staff what changed before publishing.
