How membership cards work

Customers join a membership tier and receive a wallet pass showing their status. Staff can scan the pass to confirm access, benefits, and tracked allowances.

Access modes

Access modeUse it when
Free to joinAnyone can join without payment or approval.
Paid subscriptionCustomers pay monthly or yearly for access.
Invite onlyOnly approved or invited customers should join.

Tiers

Each membership card can have tiers. A tier can include a name, description, default status, pricing, benefits, and allowances.

Examples:

TierExample benefits
SilverMember pricing and birthday reward.
GoldFree monthly item and priority booking.
VIPUnlimited access or exclusive perks.

Benefits and allowances

Membership benefits can be simple descriptions or tracked allowances.

Benefit typeExample
Included benefit10% off every visit.
Trackable allowance2 free drinks per month.
Unlimited benefitUnlimited class access.

Tracked allowances can have limits and reset intervals, such as weekly or monthly.

For paid tiers, set the monthly or yearly price after payment config is ready. Test checkout before sharing the join link publicly.

Scanner behavior

Staff can scan the pass to check the member's tier, active status, and any tracked allowances. Make sure staff know what each tier includes.

Best practice

Keep tiers easy to compare. If two tiers are hard to explain, customers will struggle to choose between them.
