Before you import

Prepare a CSV file with clear column headers. Email and phone columns are required so Carrott can identify customer records reliably.

You can download a template from the import modal. If you are importing for a specific card, use a card-specific template when available.

Steps

  1. Open Customers.
  2. Select Import.
  3. Download the CSV template if you need it.
  4. Upload your CSV file.
  5. Match or confirm the columns.
  6. Review the preview and validation results.
  7. Choose whether to update existing customers.
  8. Start the import.

Required fields

FieldWhy it matters
EmailHelps identify and contact the customer.
PhoneHelps identify the customer and supports customer lookup.

Import options

OptionUse it when
Update existing customersYou want matching customers to be updated instead of skipped.
Restore pending deletionYou want imported customers to be restored if they were pending deletion.
Card-specific importYou want to import balances or fields for one card template.

Tips for clean imports

  • Remove duplicate rows before uploading.
  • Use one row per customer.
  • Keep phone numbers in a consistent format.
  • Import a small test file first if the list is large.
  • Do not close the import while it is running.

If validation fails

Fix the rows shown in the preview, then upload the CSV again. Most errors come from missing required fields, duplicate headers, or data in the wrong column.
