How coupon cards work

A coupon card holds one main offer. Staff can scan the pass and mark the coupon as used according to the rules you set.

Main settings

SettingWhat it controls
Discount typePercentage off or fixed amount off.
Discount valueThe size of the discount.
Offer descriptionThe customer-facing explanation.
Maximum usesHow many times the coupon can be used.
Minimum purchaseThe required spend before the coupon applies.

Percentage off

Use percentage off for offers like:

  • 10% off your next order
  • 20% off lunch
  • 50% off a second item

Fixed amount off

Use fixed amount off for offers like:

  • Β£5 off when you spend Β£25
  • $10 off your first visit
  • Free delivery credit

Usage limits

Set maximum uses when the offer should only be redeemed a certain number of times. If the coupon is a one-time offer, set the maximum uses to 1.

Minimum purchase

Use a minimum purchase to protect margins. Staff may need to confirm or enter the transaction amount before redemption.

Best practice

Make coupon terms clear and short. Customers should understand the offer before they reach the counter.
